Deptford Northern Soul Club

Pete Brady
Pete has been DJing on the Belfast scene for over 30 years after he fell in love with the sounds of Tamla Motown and 60's Soul from the age of 15. Heavily influenced by Blue Note Records and the Acid Jazz movement his my younger days, the influence of Acid Jazz in his sets is still very much apparent today. Pete spent years visiting clubs in London such as Eddie Piller’s Blue Note in Hoxteth Square and Blow Up from back in its days in The Laurel Tree in Camden. In the last 6 years, Pete has hosted Night Train and Superfly Funk & Soul Club DJ on Belfast Underground Radio, with his show running since October 2015. More recently Pete has interviewed artists such as Matt Deighton, Hannah Williams and Neil Sheasby on the show and had Eddie Piller of Acid Jazz Records as a guest in the studio co-presenting a show back in September. As a DJ Pete has supported the Stone Foundation, The Excitements, The Haggis Horns, Craig Charles and the legendary Kevin Rowland. His Superfly Funk & Soul nights now reside on the Belfast Barge and this year has seen artists such as The Allergies and Smoove & Turrell, with other big names still to announce for later in the year.

DJ Sarge
A legendary figure on the Belfast music scene — Sarge has been DJing fairly regularly since the early 90s in a variety of styles ranging from soul and funk to beat and jazz, indie, psych freakbeat and some hip hop. Generally a jack at all musical trades but master to none (his words, we beg to differ). Sarge knows a good tune for the club and will get people up on their feet. A mod at heart with deep roots in club soul and r&b his selections should range from classics to one or two you aint heard before and always prepared to rub a bit of funk on it. Not to be missed.

Dee O'Loan
Back Track Soul Club was established in July 2014 and since then it has gone from strength to strength. The main ethos of the club is to spread their love of soul music out to the masses. They wanted a club where anyone and everyone could come listen to and dance in a laid back environment. There are no rules set; people from all walks of life frequent the club with quite a few number of them never before had listened to soul and were surprised by how good it sounded and these same people now frequent the club on a regular basis. The club rotates it's hosting venue between The OhYeah Centre and The Black Box; two of the most happening venues in Belfast whose concert halls are of a size that allows our attendees to dance freely. We rotate our DJs to ensure we provide only the best sounds of soul from Northern to Crossover to Modern. Back Track Soul Club also fully supports all other soul clubs. Long may we all continue.
