Join us for a Jivamukti Inversions workshop as we turn upside down to challenge ourselves on both a physical and physiological level. This Inversions 2.0 workshop will build on the principles we learned in Inversions 1.0 to help us not only recruit the strength we need to enter inversions correctly, but to begin to build the balance and awareness needed to hold inversions with control and grace. A Jivamukti Open class always includes time to invert, so learn key skills that can be transferred to your daily practice.
In this workshop we will work with partners and props such as blocks, the wall, and belts to recruit strength and build balance in our inversions practice.
There will be space to move away from… the wall and practice inversions in a safe and supportive environment. We will review headstand, forearm stand, and handstand, and develop the skills to move into some further variations of these.
The workshop will finish with a guided meditation and deep relaxation to leave you feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready for the week ahead.
“The āsana practice helps to confront our ways of being, and we may begin to see where else we can replicate this process of inversion in the broader and deeper sense of the word. The strength and mental fortitude to meet a fear-inducing situation like a handstand in the middle of the room can, and should, transfer into daily life.” (Jules Febre)

In 2013 I relocated to Shanghai where I embarked on my yoga practice. Like most newcomers, I was inflexible and stiff at the beginning which has made me a huge believer that anybody can begin a yoga practice.
Having spent 4 years in Shanghai, I embarked on the next leg of my yoga journey when I travelled to India to complete the 300-Hour Jivamukti Teacher Training. Committed to developing my yoga practice, I invested a further six months completing an 800-Hour Apprenticeship at Jivamukti Yoga Barcelona under the guidance of advanced teacher Maria Macaya.
October 2017 saw the return to my hometown, Belfast, where I have been fortunate enough to begin sharing my love of yoga through teaching at various studios across Northern Ireland. My classes are challenging but accessible, and always work towards a peak pose to allow students to develop functional awareness and express themselves through their own yoga journey. We flow, but we pay attention to alignment, and you should leave class feeling stretched, challenged, and with a sense of rejuvenation.
