Catherine Ryan Howard and Sharon Dempsey meet Anthony J Quinn

Anthony J Quinn continues his series of emerald noir evenings with a bona fide crime wave, giving the third degree to Belfast writer Sharon Dempsey — author of Little Bird — and Cork's Catherine Ryan Howard — The Liar's Girl and Distress Signals.

In The Liar's Girl Dublin's notorious Canal Killer, Will Hurley, is ten years into his life sentence when the body of a young woman is fished out of the Grand Canal. Though detectives suspect they are dealing with a copycat, they turn to Will for help. He claims he has the information the police need, but will only give it to one person — the girl he was dating when he committed his horrific crimes.

Little Bird sees a killer on the streets of Northern Ireland targeting young women and leaving behind macabre mementoes to taunt the police. Declan Wells, a wheelchair-bound forensic psychologist, and Welsh Detective Anna Cole work together to catch the deranged killer before he strikes again.

Anthony J Quinn is the author of the Celcius Daly novels.
