We are delighted to welcome Ken Loach to the 18th Belfast Film Festival!
Ken will be taking part in a Q&A at Movie House Dublin Road with Hugh Odling Smee on his film career, and will be accepting our Réalta award for outstanding contribution to cinema.
Ken Loach is a British film and television director, and the UK's foremost political filmmaker. From starting his career in stage, to television where he developed the docudrama format with hard hitting 'plays' such as Cathy Come Home, Ken now has a large filmography of feature films.
From critically acclaimed films such as Poor Cow, Kes, Sweet Sixteen, The Wind That Shakes the Barley and I, Daniel Blake, Ken Loach's lifetime commitment to challenging the political status quo in film has landed him with the title of one of Europe's premier filmmakers.
