A St. Patrick's Day party with an Irish food market, live music, entertainment, crafts and kids activities will be held at Penny Square on Saturday 17th March from 11 am – 4 pm.
On the menu will be a variety Irish themed street food with treats such as Tayto Crisp Baps, Irish Stew, Burgers with Whiskey Sauce, traditional Irish Wheaten, Soda and Potato Bread and tasty Bacon & Cabbage and Mash dishes. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy Bailies cheese cake and Whisky flavoured coffee.
Entertainment comes from a special live Irish Dance performance by students belonging to The Hounds of Ulster Ladies (McCullough Curran School of Irish Dance). While Rugby fans can enjoy watching the Six Nations Final, on the big Screen.
For a small fee, kids can enjoy balloon modelling, face painting, glitter tattoos and Irish style crafts along with green slime workshops.
Renowned Street Artist Jordan Shaw will also be hosting a drop in spray painting workshop where adults and kids aged 8 and upwards, can have-a-go and add to the wall art he will be creating.
The party which is free entry is the first of many themed events for Penny Square, located just off Haslems Lane in Lisburn City Centre. With follow up events such as weekly variety markets on a Saturday, a twilight market on Thursday 29th March and an Easter Chocolate themed market on Saturday 31st.

We want the space to be known as a diverse meeting place where everyone is welcome and were great things happen. We have many themed events lined up and can’t wait to share them with everyone. “
In keeping with the St Patrick's day theme, Penny Square will be dressed in green lights, shamrocks and bunting and have a leprechaun theme. For added fun, there will be a ‘Best Dress Leprechaun’ competition, with the prize of free private hire of Penny Square for the winner to host a Birthday Party.
