American band The Wonder Years make a much anticipated visit to Belfast’s Empire Music Hall on 19 April. It’s part of an extensive European jaunt as the band launch new album Sister Cities.
Sister Cities is a record about how all of our distance might not be so wide after all, and all of the songs sound like they are trying to build you a bridge from somewhere bad to somewhere better.
Often categorised as a pop punk band, The Wonder Years dig deeper than catchy hooks and fast guitars, and their musical and lyrical maturity sets them apart from many contemporaries.
The Wonder Years return will be much anticipated by those lucky enough to have witnessed their January 2017 Belfast debut, an incendiary and genuinely emotional performance, that came a decade after their formation.
Formed in Lansdale, Philadelphia, The Wonder Years began in 2005. Since then, they've previously released five full length albums. The band is currently signed to Hopeless Records.
