Colin Neighbourhood Partnership will be hosting a community information event about housing rights, welfare reform, and family support.
Taking place on Tuesday 13th February from 11:00am – 2:00pm in the Dairy Farm Shopping Centre in West Belfast, the aim is to give people information about the changes to benefits coming to Belfast later this year.
Many major Housing Associations will be attending the event, offering advice and support on the changes that Welfare Reform and Universal Credit may have on tenants and their families.
Universal credit has already been introduced in Limavady, Ballymoney and Strabane with rollout in West Belfast taking place in June this year. We have organised this information day so that the local community can receive relevant and up to date information on a very important issue that may affect individuals and local families.
Visit Colin Neighbourhood Partnership's stand to get a free pass for the kids to Roar and Explore (subject to availability) allowing you to browse the stalls at this event. As it’s also Pancake Tuesday/Shrove Tuesday we will be offering FREE freshly cooked pancakes to those attending.
Organisations attending include NI Housing Executive, Clanmil, Radius, Choice, and Habinteg Housing (all will be bringing housing & finance support). Advice NI, Belfast City Council’s Waste Department, Conservation Volunteers NI, PCSP, Community Restorative Justice, Colin Safer Neighbourhood Project, Belfast City Council Parks Dept., Urban Villages, Footprints Women’s Centre and Colin Neighbourhood Partnership. Belfast City Council and Urban Villages will be attending with information on the upcoming proposed developments on the Stewartstown Road, particularly the plans for the extensive town centre park. There will also be advice available on home safety and waste management.
