PLEASE DO come along and show your support for our local artists and maybe pick up a special Christmas gift!!!
Eimear O'Caoilte is an extremely talented young artist and a graduate from The Belfast School of Art. She has been an artist in residence here at The Duncairn for just over a year.
Her work is deeply rooted in community and reflects a range of issues impacting across society.
We are delighted to host her first solo show here at the centre and would like to invite you to come along to the launch on Thursday 7th December from 6-8pm. Admission is FREE and refreshments and nibbles will be served.
This exhibition is an exploration of absent interaction.
Taking our society and studying it from an angle most of us would rather not, this collection of work explores the dark, desensitised side of our interactions and wants us to question just how compassionate we really are. Looking at the city we have created and how busy it is, the work explores this idea of mass passing and isolation within our walls. The exhibition projects a cold almost manufactured personality to our society. Cutting genuine social interactions down to a nuisance and questioning whether in todays busy schedule, is it just easier to ignore than care?
