The Big Brent Event Returns to Castle Espie on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October of this year when we will celerbate the return of 80% of the world’s population of Brent Geese from their summer breeding sites. Strangford Lough is their favoured destination following their long journey of 2500km from Arctic Canada.
This year the event will take on a different theme, with the Saturday dedicated to those keen to learn more about the birds, hear from the experts and particpate in our many workshops that we have booked for the day. The Sunday will be aimed at families where people of all ages can learn about the Brent Geese in a fun and exciting way with face painters, music, dancing and more!
Saturday 7th October
Join Anthony Meeghan for breakfast and a talk about his adventures across the world in search of special breeds of birds and more. The talk will take place at 11am with breakfast provided by The Kingfisher Kitchen.
