THIS INTRODUCTORY, BUT INTENSIVE COURSE, IS SUITABLE FOR ANYONE WITH AN INTEREST IN SCULPTING THE ANATOMY – BE IT AS A FINE ARTIST OR FOR SFX IN TV/FILM. OVER TWO DAYS STUDENTS WILL LEARN ABOUT FACIAL ANATOMY AND HOW TO SCULPT A HUMAN FACE FROM THE INSIDE OUT STARTING FROM THE SKULL, LEARNING ABOUT MUSCLES AND SKIN TEXTURES AND EVENTUALLY HOW TO ADD FANTASY AND CHARACTER TO A FACIAL PIECE.
Students will learn about the process of sculpting from beginning to end covering the various sculpting materials, the wide range of tools and techniques and the ethos that all creatures and fantastical characters have to make anatomical sense for people to believe them to be real.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Richard Martin has been working in the Film and TV industry since 2009. He has established himself as an artist able to create stunningly lifelike statues and busts for collectors, museums and the medical industry. In the last several years he has been involved in many freelance and on set make-up work including A Fantastic Fear of Everything, Doctor Who, Casualty, Lady Gaga’s 'Born This Way' video and Wizards Vs Aliens. More recent movie credits include Hercules,Victor Frankenstein and Assassin’s Creed.
